NYCN lauds Gov. Bello, others over youths’ participation in government
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi chapter, has commended Gov. Yahaya Bello and his appointees for supporting the youths and for involving them in the government of the state.
A statement by the NYCN Chairman, Mr Oladele Nihi on Monday in Lokoja, to mark New Year celebration, also felicitated with the entire youths of Kogi as they began the journey into another Year.
According to Nihi, the year 2017, no doubt was a remarkable one as it witnessed events that have significantly shaped the youth into their present improved status.
“For all of us, the year 2017 undoubtedly brought one of many happy and positive feelings, at individual or collective instances we also witnessed some sad, unfortunate and regrettable occurrences in our lives.
“But as the Holy Books of our two major religions instruct us to always give thanks to God
“My immeasurable thanks goes to Gov. Yahaya Bello for his support and personal encouragement to me and the entire youths of Kogi State, especially through the NYCN.
“May the Almighty God continue to give him the wisdom and strength to continue in the actualization of the dream of a New Kogi State,” Nihi said.
Nihi also acknowledged and commended all the governor’s political appointees for their tremendous impacts and encouragement which gave significant boost to youth self development in the year under review.
He added that some of the State Government’s principles of equity and fairness adopted, had shaped the leadership acumen in them, and has eased the unnecessary pressures associated with leadership.
“To our NYCN family, the love unity and progress witnessed in this past year was made possible because of our individual resolve to put the general good above personal interests.
“2018 is going to be a better year for our youths, we are going to initiate an aggressive pursuit towards the actualization of the Youth Rebirth Agenda.
“As we enter 2018, Let us continue our march towards the attainment of our collective vision of a strong, united, prosperous and harmonious Kogi State– a secure Kogi for us and upcoming generations”, Nihi said.
Nihi also thanked the pioneer chairman of NYCN, who presently chaired the NYCN Elders Council, Mr Yusuf Opotu, for holding the Council together in 2017, saying his wise counsel has helped in illuminating their part towards achieving the goals of NYCN.
